of Announcement - AUGUST 15, 2011 |
Dear Members:
This message is to provide an update on the 2011 World Police & Fire Games. This historic event is fast approaching and there is still time to get involved. There are almost 15,000 competitors representing over a thousand agencies from 70 countries. Having experienced retired MOS volunteer their time will greatly enhance the success of the games. Your experience will permit you to be considered for the position of Team Leaders. As a Team Leader you will help guide General Volunteers through their daily tasks.
The 2011 WPFG will have three (3) ticketed events, Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, and the Candlelight Vigil. Once you are a credentialed volunteer, you will be granted access to all the games' events, with the exception of the three (3) ticketed events. However, all volunteers for the ticketed events will receive additional credentials for those events. Volunteers can retain their Credentials as a keepsake.
Volunteer Orientations will begin in August, dates and locations to be determined.
Once you are accepted as a volunteer on TEAM 2011 for the 2011 World Police & Fire Games, you will receive an email requesting that you create your credential. The email will be from noreply@wpfgconnect.com and will provide the volunteer their Official 2011 Volunteer Number and will also provide a username and password to log into the Connect Platform (the system that is creating the IDs).
It will also include information about logging into the accredited badge system to upload a photo and personalize their badge. Photos for the badge should be a clear, vivid, color headshot (no sunglasses or hats should be worn in the picture). The file cannot be larger than 1 MB in size.
Respectfully,
Personnel Bureau
